REVIEW
A romantic, historical, fantasy set against the backdrop of Paris...what's not to love? But in private, right? That's what I thought at first but apart from the lush descriptions and the compelling story, the author engages in very gentle consideration about the meanings of beauty, aging, being human and being in the world. So while reading it may feel like a day in the chocolate store, those bonbons have a subtle protein punch. This book and the characters linger, I can't wait to see what happens next!
